Mara’s Germanic European heritage, with it’s rich cultural traditions of storytelling, plays a key role in her photography. Fairy tales, allegories & her extensive travels are all aspects that maintain influence in Mara’s work, both commercially and artistically.

Her creative work reflects strong narrative themes which play out between characters, objects, textures and light. She strives to capture more than merely that which is before her. By exploring context and giving depth to things that may not be obvious at first glance, she adds an almost painting-esque quality.

Mara’s approach to photography is considered and her work ethic is always focused on adding extra to create the extraordinary.

Her work has been exhibited in fine art shows as well as being curated for group gallery shows in Germany, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
